Wight or Wong? This Tretchikoff print from the 1960s is Miss Wong. These and other designs were often described as the “green ladies” and they were generally hated by the art establishment. We love them though and their value has risen dramatically in the last few years. We will have this Tretchikoff and lots of other mid century art for sale by Artifakts later in 2012…

Here fishy fishy fishy…..No idea who made this but its probably Italian. We at Artifakts love this kind of wacky thing. Lots more odd, kitsch, strange but groovy stuff to come later in 2012 from ARTIFAKTS

Groovy, fabric and wood laminate shade from the 1970s. The lighting effect from these when the sun goes down is worth the wait. Opening Artifakts has also been worth the wait, but it is getting closer and closer and closer!

As new & boxed, violet 1970s Coral alarm clock by Walter R Strauss Ltd. This very kitsch plastic clock has a vibrant violet face and reminds me of the styling of a TV set or an art deco cinema. I don’t think this has ever been out of its box and will be on sale later this year by Artifakts….

Another plastic fantastic from Artifakts! These 1970s “Cass Barr” cassette holders are perfect for storing your vintage music collection. We have so far found them in white, blue and this very funky orange. They rotate and they stack on top of each other. We think these are a great piece of vintage design and we love the play on words with the name. Coming from Artifakts later in 2012…

Beautiful, mid 20th century vase by Tremaen pottery. Tremaen was not a studio pottery, producing thrown pots following a centuries old tradition. It was unconventional and created distinctive and individual pottery in both form and decoration. For an excelent resource see http://www.tremaen.com/index.html Many more items by Tremaen and other studio potters will be on sale from Artifakts later this year….

My pink thing! This is a great West German Spara vase designed by Halidan Kutlu - a Turkish designer who worked for Spara from 1971-1972. The eastern inspired decoration and the crazy pink glaze make this a must have and a very rare piece of West German pottery. Will this be on sale in 2012? You will have to wait and see..Artifakts..Coming soon..
